Desciption | Adds version information to the pkg name of an Adobe Admin Console-generated flat pkg that you have already downloaded. This pkg is then suitable for uploading to your management system. (If you are still need to use bundle-style packages, use the AdobeAdminConsole.pkg recipe instead.) The Input variables are NAME (which will be used when renaming the package to NAME-version.pkg) and PKG (the full path to the Adobe flat package on your system). There are two ways to use this recipe (or related child recipe): 1. Create an override of AdobeAdminConsoleFlat.pkg for every title you deploy (e.g., autopkg make-override AdobeAdminConsoleFlat.pkg -n AdobePhotoshopFlat.pkg) and set the Input variables in your override to the values needed for that title. 2. Make a single override (or use the recipe without an override — NOT recommended) and specify the Input variables at the command line at runtime (e.g., autopkg run AdobeAdminConsoleFlat.pkg -p /path/to/AdobePackage.pkg -k NAME='Adobe Photoshop'). If you consistently download your Adobe packages to the same location (e.g., the user’s Downloads folder), Method 1 works well (and is similar to the Component Package method you may have used before). Use Method 2 if you need more flexibility or if you rarely run this recipe. This pkg recipe differs from the AdobeAdminConsole.pkg recipe in which the NAME variable had to match what you called the package when you downloaded it from the console. |
